What is special about solar cable

Solar cables, also known as solar(PV) special cables, are mainly used in solar power stations. They have the advantages of high temperature resistance, cold resistance, oil resistance, acid and alkali resistance, UV protection, flame retardant and environmental protection.

They are mainly used in harsh climate conditions; Commonly used models are: PV1-F, H1Z2Z2-K

Currently, the various materials we can work with are PVC, rubber, TPE and high quality cross-link materials. Unfortunately, in order to save costs, many contractors do not choose special cables for solar systems, but choose ordinary pvc cables instead of solar cables. Rubber cables rated at 90°C, and even PVC cables rated at 70°C, are often used outdoors, which can greatly affect the service life of the system.

The characteristics of solar cables are determined by their special cable insulation and sheath materials, which we call cross-linked PE. After being irradiated by a radiation accelerator, the molecular structure of the cable material will change, thereby providing its performance in various aspects.

The difference between solar cable/ordinary cable

1. solar cable:

Conductor: copper conductor or tinned copper conductor

Insulation: Irradiation cross-linked polyolefin insulation

Sheath: Irradiation cross-linked polyolefin insulation

2. Ordinary cable:

Conductor: copper conductor or tinned copper conductor

Insulation: PVC or XLPE insulation

Sheath: PVC sheath

3. Ordinary cables It can be seen from the above that the conductors used are consistent with the solar cables.

4. The insulation and sheath of ordinary cables are different from solar cables as can be seen from the above.

5. Ordinary cables are only suitable for laying in ordinary environments, while solar cables can be used for laying in harsh environments.
